Life of Riley & Emerson: Beach Babies x 2

We were lucky enough to get two beach vacations this year!

Southport, NC:

Before we got to the beach in July, we stopped in Wilmington and Southport and spent the night in a hotel. We were really excited because we got to watch Frozen and Finding Nemo in the car! We explored the pier and the river, went to a park to run around and try to catch seagulls. Riley was sad when she couldn't catch one and give it a hug. We went out to dinner and for ice cream. The next day we drove our car onto the ferry and took a boat ride to the aquarium. We met Auntie Susan there.

There was a big river in Southport. We walked out on the pier and stuck our toes in the warm water.

We went on our first boat ride. A ferry that we drove our car on. It took us to the aquarium.

We got to see a scuba diver feed fish and give a show from inside one of the big tanks

Auntie Susan came to meet us at the aquarium and to go out to lunch before we headed to the beach

Surfside Beach:

First we went to Surfside Beach with Grandma, Pops, Aunt Melissa and Aunt Margaret over 4th of July week. We had so much fun swimming in the ocean, jumping waves with Grandma, sitting in the surf, and building sand castles and dinosaurs with Aunt Melissa, and playing the elephant butterfly game with Aunt Margaret. We went out for doughnuts with Pops and Daddy one morning while everyone slept. We got to sleep in our very own room with bunk beds (we slept on the bottom). We swam in the pool and took wagon rides with Mommy in the morning to try to be quiet. We liked watching cartoons with Pops in his room. We ate lunch on the beach every day in our very own pink beach chairs.

Our house had a pool too. We loved swimming in the pool with everyone in the afternoons.

It was Grandma's birthday while we were at the beach. We went out to dinner.

Isle of Palm:

We went to Isle of Palm with Nonni, Granddaddy, Aunt Melanie, Uncle Scott and our cousins Olivia, David, Emily, Hannah, and Preston. We had so much fun playing with the big kids and wanted to do everything just like them. We played catch and frisbee on the beach, we built sand castles, we swam in the waves and little surf pools, we took long walks with Granddaddy on the beach and we sprayed Nonni with our squirters and swam in the pool with her every afternoon. We had dance parties with our cousins and followed them around everywhere they went.
