21 Months Old!

We are 21 months old!  Creeping up on our second birthday already!

Emerson, 21 months (20lbs 0oz), Riley, 21 months (20lbs 7oz)

The last three months can be summed up by 1 word....or maybe we should say 100...TALKING!  We have words for everything now and last time Mommy counted we were up to over 100 words!  We know all of our body parts, clothes, animals, food, modes of transportation, toys, books, so many things to talk about!  We can even count to 5!

We still love to point out every plane in the sky.

Our new favorites to spot when we are on walks are buses, cars, trucks, flowers and bees.   Perhaps we love buses so much because of our favorite song "Round and Round" (aka Wheels on the Bus), we sing it at least once every morning and every night.  Mommy even had to repair our nursery rhyme book because we love it so much.  "Row row" (your boat)  and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes were a close second, but nothing beats out round and round.

Me carefully studying Round and Round to make sure Daddy doesn't skip a verse

We still love to read books!   Some of our favorites (aside from Round and Round) are "Toot" (thank Grandma for that one), Hippos Go Berserk (because we get to act crazy on a page in the middle), Caps for Sale (probably because its about hats), Halloween Mouse (yes, we are a little out of season but it has "bapples" in it),  the Little Blue Truck, the Tickle Tree and Llama Llama.

We love the playground.  We know where the swings are now and make Mommy stop every time we are on a walk.  She's even gotten brave enough to let us walk around the playground without worrying we are going to run different directions (which we often do).  We love blowing bubbles and playing with our bouncy balls too.

We love going to the grocery store to see the "choo choo".  Really any time we get to "go" and it includes putting on our shoes and getting in the car we are excited!   Especially if it's for a family ice cream outing!

Aunt Jessie came to visit and we went on a fun trip to Wal-Mart

We love to walk, run, march and chase each other around the room!  Mommy can hear us cracking up as we chase each other and fall down on the ground.  Our new favorite toy is legos.  We can sit for long time playing with our legos and making things "tall!".  And when we are done building, we climb in the box and play in there!

We love hats and headbands and anything can quickly become a "haa"...washcloths in the bath tub, picnic blankets, burp clothes, hoods from our sweatshirts.  Glasses are a favorite too, we love to wear our sunglasses both inside and out!  Mommy calls us cool dudes so now when we take them on and off in the car, she can hear us say "duuuude" in the backseat.  We love to wear our "pur" (purses) around.  Pretty much anything that involves dressing up is a favorite!

We are taking swimming lessons!  Mommy was out of town so Daddy and Nonni took us to our first one! Riley needs a few more tries to make sure she buys into this giant body of water thing (which is ironic since she loves to dunk her face in the tub), but I had fun!

Mommy started making us family dinners so we all eat together.  Sometimes we like what she makes, sometimes Arlie and Ashby get a lot of it, but we are working on expanding our palettes. We eat all of our meals with a plate and fork now (although sometimes if its extra delicious, like macaroni and cheese, we still need to use our hands to get it in fast enough).  We are done with bottles and now drink everything out of a cup, except when we play pretend.

Daddy made us a chalkboard wall and we love coloring with "cha."

We love the bath, especially when we get bubbles!  My favorite toy is a "bapple" (apple) and Riley loves the fruit basket which she thinks is a bowl.  Aunt Melissa brought these when she came to visit.  She said she and Mommy used to like to play with plastic fruits in the tub too.
