Hard Work

Today we got our pneumonia vaccine.  Daddy happened to arrive right when the nurse was starting.  He heard and recognized our cry from the door to the NICU and decided to hang out by the lockers until she was done.  We only cried for a second though.

Over the past week, we have really gotten better at keeping our hearts beating and our oxygen saturation up.  Before this week, it wasn't uncommon for our O2 monitor to beep several times an hour.  Now, we can go for several hours without having a single beep!  Another step closer to going home.

Preemies are known for having very slow motility and digestion.  Based on Emerson's consistently round belly, you've probably guessed she has it worse than most!  She spent most of Mommy's visit concentrating very hard trying to go to the bathroom.

First, she tried the Tebow.

When that didn't work, she turned to prayer.

Some privacy please...(and a pneumonia vaccine).

Success!

I just sat by and watched.
