We were so happy to see Daddy today! He held both of us, so did Mommy, they did a switcheroo half way through their visit with a few diaper changes in between.
Riley's food is now condensed to a half hour and she can take up to 15ccs by mouth each feeding. My feeds have been condensed to 2 hours. I can take 5ccs up to two times a day by mouth. I don't get to have quite as many bottles because drinking from a bottle can cause more air to get in our stomachs and you know I have a hard time keeping my "girth" down. We are both up to 45ml every three hours which is our goal volume right now. Our doctor's main goal right now is good nutrition, the more we grow, the bigger our lungs get! I am up to 4lbs 7oz. Riley weighs 4lbs 10oz. She lost a little weight today because they took her off her oxygen last night! And she's been taking a diuretic to keep fluid off her lungs to help her breathe easier and a bit more slowly. When babies breathe fast (more than 60 breaths a minute) their breathing is called tachypneic (tuh-KIP-nick). They are going to wait to put her in an open crib, they try to minimize the number of changes happening at once.
Mommy and Daddy were so busy holding us, they didn't get to take many pictures today. Here's Riley without her oxygen. Despite Daddy's excellent swaddle, she was wriggling herself into a tough photo spot.
Here's me in my PJs after Mommy changed me.
Sounds like the girls are doing well! So cute in their new duds!
