We're Back!

Sorry for the short hiatus faithful blog readers...we heard it was a holiday weekend and we decided to take the day off for some rest and relaxation.  Oh, who are we kidding, all we do is rest and relax for the most part, especially when Daddy is holding us.

The big news for today is that when Mommy and Daddy arrived, they found us swaddled in blankets in our beds.  This is the first step to us maintaining our own body temperature.  Since we were born, our bed has been heated to match our body temperature to help keep us warm, this means our isolette has been a toasty 98.6 degrees for the past four weeks (including a little added humidity for the first week to keep our skin soft).  Starting last night, the nurse turned off our bed heaters and turned down the temperature of our isolette, first to 84 degrees and then down to 82 degrees.  They are testing our ability to keep our body temperature at a normal 98.6 and so far we have done great!  Next step...open air cribs!  As you can tell in the picture below, the prospect of being out in the open air is very exciting to Emerson.  Me too!

Emerson is up to 7.5ml food per hour and now weighs 3 pounds 1.5 ounces.  I am up to 8.2ml of food per hour and I weigh in at a hefty 3 pounds 5 ounces.  Here's a picture of me nice and clean after my bath.
